About Swan Hill Basketball Association
Swan Hill Basketball Association run a domestic local competition for all – new and experienced players. The Junior competition caters for children who want to play basketball for fun, to be active and enjoy competing in a weekly competition.
Season Dates – Summer Season starts 15th October 2024 through to 25 March 2025.
JUNIOR COMPETITION – Age Groups 2024/2025
- Under 10 Boys & Under 10 Girls – Born 2016 & 2017
- Under 12 Boys & Under 12 Girls – Born 2014 & 2015
- Under 14 Boys & Under 14 Girls – Born 2012 & 2013
- Under 16 Boys & Under 16 Girls – Born 2010 & 2011
- Under 19 Boys & Under 19 Girls – Born 2007, 2008 & 2009
For the Junior Competition Boys games are held on Wednesday nights & Girls games are held on Thursday nights.
- Times for junior grades can range from 4pm to 8:20pm depending on the number of registrations.
- Playing singlets are provided to junior players. All players must wear black basketball shorts with no pockets of stripes. Black shorts are available to be purchased in the basketball office.
Players register as individuals and are placed into even teams at the start of the season dependent on age, size, gender and ability. These teams will be notified a week before the competition commences on our website and social media.
Aussie Hoops Programs are also run on Tuesday afternoons. Aussie Hoops is run during school terms and SHBA offers a term 4 program for 6 to 8 weeks for children aged 5 to 8.
SENIOR OPEN COMPETITION
SHBA offers a senior competition that runs for about 10 weeks from October to December. Players must be over 14 years of age to play and must play in the junior competition to be eligible to play in the senior grade.
- Players organize their own teams, and all players must register through PlayHQ as individuals.
- Individual players can register and notify the SHBA office they would like to play and are looking to join a team in the senior competition.
- Game played Tuesday nights for Open Men & Women.
